Clark Baumbusch, MD

A native of McLean, Virginia, Dr. Baumbusch completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia. He received his medical degree from the George Washington University, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed a general surgery internship at Georgetown University and his orthopedic surgery residency at Georgetown University.
Following his residency, Dr. Baumbusch received advanced fellowship training in sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the hip, shoulder, elbow, and knee at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. At Kerlan-Jobe, Dr. Baumbusch was an assistant team physician for many of the professional teams in Los Angeles including the Lakers, Sparks, Dodgers, Angels, Kings, and Ducks. He served as associate team physician for Loyola-Marymount University.
Dr. Baumbusch enjoys treating patients of all ages and athletic abilities. He approaches every problem from a nonoperative perspective first. Often, he is able to create an individualized physical therapy program or perform pinpoint injections, including the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections used by so many elite athletes. Dr. Baumbusch works closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, chiropractors, physiatrists, rehabilitation medicine specialists, and primary care sports medicine providers to help each of his patients get fit, strong, and healthy faster.
When he’s not treating patients in the office, Dr. Baumbusch enjoys volunteering as the team physician for the PGA tour at the Greenbrier Classic. He enjoys playing tennis and basketball as well as hiking. He and his wife, Barbara, have two children, Audrey and Case.
